Handling Classes

The Asheville Kennel Club 2022 handling classes will resume on Monday, April 18, 2022, and will run through June 27, 2022. There will be NO CLASS on Monday, May 30th (Memorial Day). This will be followed by a break for a few weeks in July and part of August.

The time is: 7 pm at the Companion Dog Training Ctr. 31 Monticello Rd., Suite 103, Weaverville.  This is the same location as before.  There have been some format changes, so please read carefully.  Cost per class is still $3 for club members, and $5 for nonmembers, payable on site.

**Some important additional reminders!!!

As of this writing:

1.  Masks are required!

2.  Proof of rabies must be the official Rabies Certificate with clinic name.

3.  Only children 12 or older, supervised by an adult, will be allowed.

Supervised children of any age are welcome at Handling Class, however, only children 12 or older can take part in the class. Thanks for your cooperation!  


There is no need to sign up in advance, and no limit to the number of times you and your dog may attend.  There is a class meeting before us, so please do NOT enter the building before 7 pm, unless given the ok by Moshe or Marie.

Be aware that you will be required to sign a liability waiver and present proof of your pet’s current Rabies vaccination.

Handling Class

Instruction and tips for competition in the Sport of Breed Conformation.

Handling classes teach you and your dog how to compete in the show ring.

Learn how to conduct yourself and present your dog for conformation judging by practicing under the watchful eye of experienced dog handlers.

Handling Classes are NOT Obedience Classes

The Asheville Kennel Club does not teach Obedience Classes.
